Your opinion matters...

Rotary International President Banerjee says: “Understanding what Rotary means to you is crucial:  Rotarians and Rotaractors like you define what Rotary stands for and how others perceive us.  You are Rotary's brand champions!  I urge you to please assist with our brand revitalization by completing the Strengthening Rotary's Brand Image survey.”

To ensure that your voice is heard, please complete the survey on or before Friday, 20 January 2012.   This online survey should take only 10-15 minutes to complete.  Please be assured that all feedback will be kept confidential.

  1. The survey is a good start on the journey to save Rotary. Have just read Steve Jobs biography - I recommend it.

How he saved Apple was by getting his people to "think different". Just what Rotary needs if it is to survive the next 20 years.

  2. One of the difficult tasks that need to be included in the branding work is to ensure that the brand not only appeals to potential younger members but doesn't alienate Rotary from the current older long term members who still have a lot to offer.
It appears that Rotary,in a lot of areas, suffers from a public perception of maybe being old fashioned even though it is seen to do a worthwhile job.
    Comment such as
    1. It is an old boys club.
    2. You need a lot of money to get into Rotary
    3. A group of old men sitting around having dinner meetings
    4. You can only join Rotary by invitation.

These are only a few examples of the comments our club has come across when we started looking at how to increase our membership.
Our club has an average age of 69 and attracting younger members is still a challenge.

The brand itself is good but the perception needs a lot of work.
